Cyclist admitted to ICU after crash with car

A pedal cyclist involved in a collision with a car was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, police said today.
The man, said to be a 67-year-old from Devonshire, was travelling along North Shore Road in Smith’s at about 8.15am yesterday when the crash happened.
Police said today that the cyclist and the motorist, a 62-year-old Warwick woman, were travelling in opposite directions at the time.
Both vehicles were damaged but no other injuries were reported.
Traffic diversions were in place for about two hours while the scene was processed.
