Rider hospitalised after crash with car in Southampton

A rider was seriously injured in an early-morning crash in Southampton today, police said.

Officers and other first responders were called to the incident on Middle Road near Evans Bay Road at about 1.25am.

The Bermuda Police Service said: “Initial reports indicate that a car and a motorcycle, travelling in opposite directions, collided.

“The motorcycle rider has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

“The three occupants of the car were not reported to be injured.

“Traffic in both directions was at a complete standstill for about four hours, while police examined the scene.”

Witnesses were asked to call Police Constable Ayesha Akbar on 211 or e-mail aakbar@bps.bm.
