Pedestrian in Front Street collision remains in hospital

A pedestrian who was injured when he collided with a van on Front Street continues to receive treatment in hospital, a police spokesman said today.

First responders were called to Front Street between the junctions of King Street and Court Street at about 10.30am yesterday.

Officers believe the man stepped off the curb and into the path of the moving van, where the vehicle hit him.

An ambulance took the man to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to receive treatment, including for an injury to his head.
