Rider hurt in collision with truck at West End

A 23-year-old Sandys woman required hospital treatment after her motorcycle was involved in a collision with a truck yesterday in Sandys, police reported.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said that at 9.20am, the rider was travelling east on Middle Road in Sandys while a truck in the westbound lane attempted a turn onto the Halt Lane and Wingood Way access to the Railway Trail, when their vehicles collided.

The woman sustained “several” injuries, the spokesman said, while the truck driver, a 51-year-old Sandys man, was not hurt.

Both vehicles were damaged.

Traffic was diverted for about two hours while the scene was processed.

Witnesses who have not spoken to police were asked to contact Pc Naveen Kumar by calling 211 or e-mailing nkumar@bps.bm.
