Motorcyclist seriously injured in Paget crash

A rider has been taken to hospital for life-threatening injuries after a collision with a taxi, police have warned.

A spokesman said officers were called to South Road in Paget near the entrance to Bermuda College at about 2.35pm.

The male rider was initially unresponsive but regained consciousness at the scene.

He was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment if serious injuries.

The taxi driver was not reported to have been hurt.

The roadway was closed to traffic while the scene was processed. As of 4pm, traffic diversions were in place at St Paul’s Lane and Southcote Road.

Drivers were urged to exercise caution as they approached diversions and to follow instructions from officers assisting with traffic.
