Police have identified a man who died after a crash in Devonshire last week.

A spokesman said Adam Tavares, 51, was unresponsive after he lost control of his cycle and hit a wall at the junction of Loyal Hill and North Shore Road at about 5.20pm on January 22.

Mr Tavares was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but was later pronounced dead, becoming the first person to die on Bermuda’s roads this year.

Police offered condolences to Mr Tavares’s loved ones, and his family thanked members of the public who assisted at the scene of the crash.

An investigation into the incident continues.

Any witnesses who have not yet come forward should contact Sergeant Milton Hill, of the roads policing unit, on 515-2481 or mjhill@bps.bm as soon as possible.
