Police launch investigation into serious Devonshire crash

Police have launched an investigation into a weekend crash that left a man with serious head injuries.

They confirmed that the injured motorcyclist is aged 52 and from Devonshire. He was in a critical condition at the time of being transported to hospital.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that the man was apparently found lying on the road with serious head injuries by members of the public who stopped to render assistance.

The incident took place near the roundabout at the junction of Barker’s Hill, Palmetto Road and North Shore Road, Devonshire at about 3:35am on January 31.

The police spokesman said: “He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and, at last check, remains in the intensive care unit.”

Witnesses to the incident were encouraged to call Constable Dragan Pavkovic on 211 or to e-mail dragan.pavkovic@bps.bm as soon as possible.
