Two vehicles ‘extensively damaged’ in Devonshire crash

No serious injuries were reported in a crash just before midnight last night, when a car and van were badly damaged in a collision on South Road near Devonshire Bay.

Police said a westbound car struck a van coming in the opposite direction. The car driver, a 53-year-old Smith’s woman, was said to have minor injuries while the van driver, a 68-year-old St George’s man, was not hurt.

Traffic had to be diverted from the scene for 90 minutes.

Police urged witnesses to the incident to call 211.
