Police appealed for witnesses to a single-vehicle crash involving a senior and four children that happened on Tuesday on South Road, Warwick.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said a report was received at about 2.35pm of the incident which occurred near the junction with Dunscombe Road and is not believed to have resulted in any serious injuries.

A video of the scene, showing a police car, the fire service and an ambulance in attendance, was circulated on social media.

The spokesman said: “It appears that a red car driven in the westbound lane of South Road went off the road, [crashing] with a curb, wall and utility pole.

“Though no serious injuries were apparent, the car driver, said to be a 75-year-old Warwick woman, as well as the four child passengers, believed to be aged 5, 6, 7 and 9, were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for medical assessment.”

Traffic diversions were in place for about an hour and 15 minutes while the scene was processed.

Any witnesses that have not already come forward were asked to call Constable Jessica Tannock on 211 or e-mail jtannock@bps.bm.
