Rider seriously injured in Paget collision

A rider was taken to hospital this evening following a “serious” two-vehicle collision in Paget, police said.

A spokeswoman said around 10pm, officers and other first responders responded to a report of a serious two-vehicle collision, which involved a motor car and a motorcycle, at the junction of Cobbs Hill Road and Ord Road in Paget.

Police said initial information suggested that the female driver of the motor car was travelling on Cobbs Hill Road towards Ord Road when she was in collision with the male rider who was travelling on Ord Road.

The rider, who sustained serious injuries, as well as the female driver of the car and her two female passengers were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The extent of their injuries could not be determined, the spokeswoman said.

Traffic diversions were in place at Ord Road, Cobbs Hill Road, and the Railway Trail while officers processed the scene.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the scene was cleared.

Witnesses to the collision were asked to call PC 2614 Krislyn Lambert on 211 or send an e-mail to krislyn.lambert@bps.bm
