Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a rental car collided with a boundary wall in St George’s yesterday afternoon.

Officers arrived at the scene, just west of Mullet Bay Park on Mullet Bay Road, at about 1.45pm and found the female driver still seated inside the vehicle.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “Upon speaking with her, they observed her breath smelled strongly of intoxicants.

“The driver was informed there was reason to believe she was driving while impaired by alcohol.

“She was subsequently arrested and cautioned.”

It is understood the car was being driven east along Mullet Bay Road when the driver hit the wall of a nearby residence.

Both the wall and the rental car suffered minor damage

The driver subsequently complained of chest pains and was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The collision is now under investigation.
