E-mail scheme to be tried in schools

A pilot e-mail system is coming online in Bermuda’s public schools, the Ministry of Education has announced.E-mail accounts are to be set up for senior and middle school students as well as those in primary five and six.Students can use the Live[AT]Edu system to work in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They will also be able to store their work online, for easy access from home.The system, provided free by the Microsoft Corporation, is currently at the pilot stage, and will continue to be reviewed and tested.Live[AT]Edu’s content will be filtered and monitored by teachers. The service also requires consent from both students and parents.
