Govt appoints Child Development Programme head

Government has named Sherri Bucci as the head of its Child Development Programme.

The programme works in partnership with families to “enhance the development of children from birth to four years of age”.

Mrs Bucci has been a teacher for 27 years, and has worked as a preschool administrator within the public system for the last 16 years, a Government spokeswoman said.

She holds two master’s degrees; one in management and human relations and a second in communicative disorders.

Education Minister Nalton Brangman said: “We feel honoured to have her as a member of the Ministry of Education team. I am certain that under her leadership, the Child Development Programme will continue its role as a flagship for child development in the region.”

The Child Development Programme began in 1978 as the Child Development Project.

Sherri Bucci is the new head of Government’s Child Development Programme.
