Students in West Pembroke Primary School’s autism programme had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in archery yesterday, performing in front of the school body, parents, friends and family.

They have been practising archery weekly with Sende Semos, the founder and instructor of Indigo Archery, for three school terms.

Autism spectrum disorder teacher at the school, Zola French said: “Archery is extremely beneficial for the students in all areas of their learning. It incorporates discipline, following instructions, listening skills, co-ordination and fine and gross motor development.”

Today, the students will be participating at the National Archery Association of Bermuda at St David’s.
