Parent engagement sessions on the Cambridge Curriculum and Standards-Based Grading have been organised.

The first, an introduction to the curriculum, takes place tomorrow, at the CedarBridge Academy Cafetorium, from 5.45pm to 7.15pm.

The Department of Education said in a statement: “This session is a great opportunity for parents to learn more about the Cambridge Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations.

“This session follows positive feedback from a similar session offered last year for Parent Council members and PTA heads who recommended that all parents be given the chance to learn more about this important topic and ask questions on this topic directly to the Department of Education.”

The press release says parents will be given the chance to test their knowledge and skills with real test questions and get a better understanding of student expectations.

The second session is for parents to learn more about Standards-Based Grading, which is being introduced throughout the public education system from the primary through senior school levels.

Standards-Based Grading will lead to more focused teaching and improved grading practices for the benefit of all students.

That takes place at the same venue on Wednesday, November 30, from 5.45pm to 7.15pm.
