Art puts “a big smile on peoples’ faces”, government reform minister Lovitta Foggo told youngsters and their parents.

The Bermuda Society of Arts was decked in the creations from 22 different schools, public and private, for the opening of the 53rd Annual Primary School Exhibition.

Ms Foggo, standing in for education minister Diallo Rabain, introduced this year’s gallery of creations under the theme of “The Art in Me”.

She said: “This year’s theme acknowledges the influence of current events in children’s lives, and how we as parents and educators can help children express their views through art.”

Ms Foggo thanked the island’s teachers for “doing an excellent job — certainly this work here today is a testament to that”.

The exhibit remains at the gallery in City Hall until March 5.
