Campers shine in youth art expo
A successful season of camps and activities for the island’s young people included a Youth Art Expo for campers to display their imagination, colour and artistic talent.
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, hailed the array of programmes offered under the theme “Be Kind, Be Brave, Be Bold”.
“These programmes provide opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, develop lasting friendships, and stay active in a safe and supportive environment,” Mr Darrell said, thanking camp staff and coaches, volunteers and the Department of Sport and Recreation.
Government-operated camps accommodated up to 455 campers each week, while private camp operators provided opportunities for an additional 275 campers throughout the summer.
