Students at Saltus Grammar School got together to celebrate International Women’s Day with a fun photoshoot.

Nicole Chichon, Deputy Head at Saltus said: “Hanna Percy one of our SGY 1 students, working alongside her mother Wendy Percy, was involved with the coordination of this year’s International Women’s Day. They approached the school and asked for our help in getting Saltus to be part of the celebration.

“Hanna and I looked at some of the ways that we could support the day and highlight the day at school. We decided that a fun way to involve the students was to set up a photo booth and give students the opportunity to show their support for the day even if they were unable to make the City Hall event.

“Using purple props and some signs the SGY 2 photography class set up at photo booth at recess and invited students to come and help with #pressforprogress. Our hope was to show our support through social media for the hashtag.

“We also had a group of Senior students who went to City Hall at lunchtime to support the March and the speakers and singers who were performing. Our current Head Girl Toriah Smith gave the student speech. Tiffany Paynter our Head Girl from 2003-2004 was also featured as a speaker.”
