CedarBridge Academy celebrated the graduation of 104 students yesterday. Almost 40 special awards and scholarships were also handed out during a ceremony at the school’s Ruth Seaton James Auditorium in Devonshire.

Storm Gibbons, the head girl, told the audience: “We have not made it here on our own efforts alone. Without the labour of CedarBridge teachers and staff, we would not be sitting here today.

“These past four years have involved some of the most memorable and influential moments in our lives thus far. I am certain that we will continue to rise up and exceed expectations, as we are students of excellence.”

About half the Class of 2018 will continue their studies at Bermuda College. Others will study in Canada, the US or Britain, and some will join Bermuda’s workforce.

Kalmar Richards, acting Commissioner of Education and the former principal of CedarBridge, said the Class of 2018 was “a remarkable, phenomenal group”.

She told them to “be brilliant, be outstanding, be excellent, and be boldly ambitious”.
