On the back of strong International Baccalaureate (IB) and Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC) results released in July, where the school achieved an outstanding 94% pass rate for the IB Diploma Programme and 100% pass rates for the IB Individual Subjects and BTEC programmes, Warwick Academy continued to celebrate student success with their recent IGCSE results.

The school's 5A* - C/4+ percentage at IGCSE was 93.4% and is the highest the school has ever achieved. Anna Francoeur is the first student in the school's history to achieve an outstanding 10 A* along with 1A across distinct subjects.

Mr. Dave Horan, the school Principal, said: ‘We know how much work goes into the preparation for these examinations and are proud of all our students and what they have achieved. I would also like to recognise the hard work and skill of our faculty and their collective efforts to support the students in reaching their potential. We are very fortunate at Warwick Academy to have staff who go above and beyond on a daily basis.'

Head of Curriculum Mr. Mark Thorpe added: ‘For the third year in a row IGCSE results are substantially above the benchmark for students gaining 5A*- C, including Mathematics and English, with the majority of our students sitting anywhere from 7 to 10 distinct IGCSE subjects. Whilst we have some fantastic individual results, we are particularly pleased with the consistent progress all of our students have made, irrespective of their ability and starting point. Our flexible approach to our curriculum gives our students a strong foundation for moving on to their preferred pathway in our vibrant and successful Sixth Form.'

Mr. Horan added: ‘We are also very pleased with the University destinations and degree courses our graduates are placed in. This is one of our most import benchmarks and again shows that the flexibility of the Sixth Form programme delivers results.'
