Hundreds of students have attended Bermuda College courtesy of an annual $300,000 grant for those in financial need.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, told the House of Assembly 313 students benefited in the 2017-18 year, 198 in 2018-19, and 219 in the current year.
Merit based awards were introduced in September 2018 for promising Bermudian public school graduates to attend the Bermuda College with $5,000 per year for two years.
Guidance counsellors at both CedarBridge Academy and the Berkeley Institute have worked with the college to identify a pool of candidates, Mr Rabain said.
