Acting prefects appointed at international school

Leaders of the pack: six Chatmore students have been appointed acting prefects

Six pupils at an international school have been appointed acting prefects.

Azari Kelly, Matthew Mitchell, Zyrah Trott, Matthew Forrester, Keziah Smith and Jordan Smith all study at the Chatmore British International school in Smith’s.

The six, aged between 13 and 16, were identified by the school’s senior leadership team as ready to assume leadership role at the school.

Sam Bean, the graduating head boy, advised the leadership trainees earlier this month to “take advantage of the leadership opportunity to grow” as part of a “a springboard for the future”.

Jerome Stovell, the leadership coordinator and a board member, said: “Chatmore has always had the key aim of cultivating leaders and that being a leader is not always an easy role”.

The new leaders will learn and practice over the next eight weeks, in the hope of earning a permanent post for the 2021-2022 school year.
