This year’s Outstanding Teacher Awards are to be supported by Allied World.

The annual awards, organised by Bermuda Education Network, will recognise the island’s public teachers in December.

Becky Ausenda, BEN’s founder, said that Allied World has been a key supporter for BEN’s work with public schools since 2012.

“We are grateful that Allied World shares our vision for these awards,” she said. “Recognising teaching excellence is a key lever for raising teaching standards in schools and we thank Allied World for their generous support, which includes hosting a prize giving celebration, and providing cash prizes of $1,000 for our ten finalists.”

Colm Singleton, the head of Allied World Bermuda, said: “Allied World recognises the incredible role that public school educators play in our community. We look forward to celebrating the ten finalists when they are announced in December.”

Ms Ausenda added that the success of the awards is rooted in the public school community’s participation and urged everyone working in Bermuda’s public schools to visit BEN’s website www.bermudaeducationnetwork.com to nominate a deserving colleague.
