The public will have a second opportunity to meet the next president of the Bermuda College at a public forum today.

The College’s Board of Governors has shortlisted two candidates for the post, Todd Fritch and Carolyn Strickland.

The successful candidate will take over from Duranda Greene, who is retiring at the end of this academic year after 16 years in the post.

Dr Fritch is the executive vice-president and provost at State College of Florida in Bradenton. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and a Master of Science in Geology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Carolyn Strickland

Dr Strickland is the vice-president of enrolment management at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport.

She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from Penn State University, and a Master of Education in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina.

The first public forum — in which the candidates were introduced to staff, students, and members of the public, before taking questions from the audience — was held on Tuesday.

Today’s forum will be held at the Athene Lecture Theatre between 1pm and 2pm. Members of the public who have questions for the candidates can e-mail them to Lorrita Tucker at ljtucker@college.bm.

There will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session. Attendees will be asked to complete a feedback form and the completed forms will be given to the Board of Governors for review.
