Outstanding Teacher Awards finalists announced

The ten finalists for this year’s Outstanding Teacher Awards have been announced.

The awards, organised by the Bermuda Education Network, will take place on November 30.

Becky Ausenda, founder of BEN, said: “Thank you to everyone who nominated a teacher for BEN’s awards.

“Our committee have selected ten inspiring finalists from the many excellent nominations we received and it’s my pleasure to announce this year’s finalists.”

The finalists are: Ayesha Vickers Brown, Paget Primary School; Lutgarda Lambe; Purvis Primary School; Richard Lindsay, CedarBridge Academy; Dionne Tuzo, Northlands Primary School; Hewitt Taylor, The Berkeley Institute; Michael Beckles, The Berkeley Institute; Helen Paynter, Whitney Institute Middle School; Wayne DeSilva, Whitney Institute Middle School; Makeba Stowe, East End Primary School; and Shunna Muhammad, Southampton Preschool.

The 2023 Outstanding Teacher Awards are sponsored by Allied World.

Colm Singleton, head of Allied World Bermuda, said: “Congratulations to each teacher who made the shortlist. Best of luck as you progress to the next stage of the awards.”
