Parents: get to know schools before registration
The Department of Education has announced a series of open houses for preschools and middle schools ahead of registration for the 2024-25 school year.
Parents and prospective students are invited to the school sites, with the exception of Lyceum Preschool, as follows:
• Eastern Zone schools: Tomorrow
• Central Zone schools: Wednesday
• Western Zone schools: Thursday
Schools will host visitors from 9am to noon.
The two exceptions are Sandys Secondary Middle School, where the open house runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Thursday, while the Lyceum open house will be by on the school's website.
Kalmar Richards, the Commissioner of Education, said parents and guardians could visit to meet school leaders and key staff.
She added: “Ask questions and leave confident that your children will be in good hands."
Registration runs from November 27 to December 15.
Registration for primary schools is to follow the completion of the ongoing rescoring process under public education reforms announced in July 2023.
