Andrew Street, a curator of palms, will be giving a presentation on different aspects of palm care tomorrow evening at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.

Mr Street is the curator of palms at the Montgomery Botanical Centre in Miami. His presentation will include a discussion about the growth and care of palms and what they need to thrive in their native landscape.

Mr Street will also discuss the benefits of palms for storm protection and yard shade.

Ali Hochberg, marketing officer for the Bermuda Zoological Society, explained why they chose Mr Street for the presentation.

“All presenters for the lecture series support our mission to inspire care and appreciated of island environments. Andrew fits this perfectly,” said Ms Hochberg.

The lecture, hosted by BZS, takes place from 7 to 8:30pm.

The event is free but donations of $10 donation would be appreciated.

“The proceeds from the lecture series in general go to support Bermuda Zoological Educational programmes,” said Ms Hochberg.
