Registration opens for Coaching for Success programme
The Mirrors Programme has opened the registration period for a coaching scheme aimed at helping students prepare to achieve their goals.
A government spokeswoman said the organisation was looking for 30 senior school pupils to take part in the next session of the Coaching for Success Community Programme, to start later this month.
Kimberley Jackson, a programme manager for The Mirrors Programme, said: “This programme is all about helping students transform their perspective, build confidence and achieve their goals.
“Through interactive activities, personal coaching and leadership training, students will gain valuable tools to help reach their dreams.”
The programme, geared towards students between the ages of 14 and 18, is scheduled to start with a residential camp at the Willowbank Resort from October 21 to 24.
The camp will be followed by four months of weekly coaching sessions and activities designed to inspire and motivate, concluding next June.
Organisers said that feedback from the last cohort was overwhelmingly positive. Students said the programme helped them set and achieve goals, grow as students and maintain a positive attitude.
Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors, said: “This programme is truly life-changing for our young people.
“We encourage students to seize this opportunity to shape their futures and become the leaders they aspire to be."
Prospective participants were urged to sign up soon as the programme has only 30 spaces, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
