Bermuda College to offer summer courses on AI
Bermuda College has opened registration for a series of summer courses intended to help improve job prospects for students.
The Athora Division of Professional and Career Education will offer courses on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, entertainment, hospitality, fitness training and business ethics.
Among the courses being offered by Apace are those on artificial intelligence, including AI for administrative professionals, advanced generative AI and prompt engineering.
Run in conjunction with the Bermuda-based Clarity Institute, the advanced course is designed for professionals seeking to specialise in AI-driven solutions across industries.
Tawana Flood, the director of the division of Apace, said most of the courses on offer were externally recognised and organised in collaboration with local and overseas organisations.
Ms Flood added: “We cannot afford to ignore artificial intelligence, and those who will be able to use it best are those who are educated on understanding and applying it.
“AI is going to affect virtually everything we do and can be a great tool for enhancing how you work and the skills you have to offer.”
Ms Flood said that many of the courses are online, which will make it easier for those who are interested to take part.
In-person courses will also be available, covering subjects including marine navigation and bartending.
“All the courses are vocational and as such can add an extra layer to a person’s knowledge that can be a huge asset in a job or if the person is looking for employment or to change careers,” Ms Flood said.
“In addition, if you are running a business, especially a small business, these courses can help in areas such as maintaining accounting records.”
