Chatmore founder appointed to British international board
A Bermudian educator has been appointed to the board of the Council of British International Schools.
Cobis said in a statement that the appointment of Angela Fubler comes in response to her longstanding dedication to education and the breadth of her experience in local as well as global contexts.
Ms Fubler is the founder of Chatmore British International School in Smith’s. Her career spans early years through to higher education. In 2004, she established Chatterbox Preschool in Southampton.
Cobis said its mission is to promote high standards and inclusive practices across its extensive global network.
Colin Bell, the chief executive of the organisation, and Jim Knight, the chairman of its board of directors, along with the executive team welcomed the news of Ms Fubler’s appointment.
They said in a joint statement: “Angela’s dedication to education and her wealth of experience make her a valuable addition to our team.
“We look forward to the contributions she will provide as we continue working to support outstanding learning outcomes for students worldwide.”
Cobis represents more than 400 British international schools and affiliated organisations across more than 80 countries.
The organisation said Ms Fubler’s appointment reflects the “growing influence of diverse educational perspectives from smaller systems, such as those found in Bermuda and the wider Caribbean”.
In 2011, she introduced the International Primary Curriculum to Bermuda, followed by the middle years and early years curriculums.
Under her leadership, the preschool earned NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) recognition and accreditation in 2014.
In 2021, she launched the Chatmore ConnectEd online school, expanding access to the world’s first online International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme through a hybrid model in partnership with King’s InterHigh.
Ms Fubler was named one of Relocate Global/Think Women’s 80 Outstanding Global Women 2025 in recognition of her leadership and global outlook in education.
She serves as programme innovation lead for The Chatmore Foundation’s Retired Not Expired initiative and organised the inaugural No School Is an Island Conference in 2025.
She is also an international speaker, a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and an active member of The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory, with special interests in community wellness and leadership development.
