Scholarship recipients honoured at award ceremony
Recipients of several government scholarships were honoured as they laid the foundations to further their educational journeys.
The Ministry of Education organised the 2025 Scholarships and Awards Reception, which hosted more than 60 people set to return to school in the fall.
It provided support through ten different scholarship and award categories.
Crystal Caesar, the education minister, said: “I’m proud to share that this year, the Ministry of Education has committed a budget of $1.77 million towards scholarships and awards — a solid investment in the future of our island.
“Through our scholarships and awards, we continue to uplift individuals who embody excellence and promise.”
She added: “These recipients aren’t just learners — they’re future leaders, educators, change-makers and nation builders.”
The reception recognised the contributions of the scholarship committees, as well as Shanaye Smith, the scholarships and awards programme manager.
Ms Caesar said: “We believe that every Bermudian, regardless of age or background, deserves the chance to pursue postsecondary and graduate studies.
“That is why we continue to expand scholarship and award programmes that empower students to reach their full potential.”
