Bermuda College unveils next academic year’s courses

Hundreds of courses tailored to meet a wide range of interests and professional goals will be offered by the Bermuda College in the coming academic year.

The college said the 70-plus-page schedule included a diverse selection of subjects such as film studies, physics, insurance, hotel management and Spanish, alongside an extensive range of trade courses.

The schedule highlights offerings from the Athora Division of Professional and Career Education, which covers emerging and in-demand areas including artificial intelligence, horticulture, corporate governance and cloud management.

David Sam, the president of the Bermuda College, said: “It’s a bit of a cliché but there truly is something for everyone in this fall schedule.

“This is what makes us a community college, it’s part of our DNA. We are here to serve the entire community.”

Dr Sam highlighted the availability of financial support and urged prospective students to apply early.

He said: “We want all Bermudians to benefit from the excellent teaching and opportunities we offer.

“Our mission is to empower individuals through education and support them in achieving success.

“We also have over 40 articulation agreements with overseas colleges and universities, giving students the opportunity to continue their education abroad and return to Bermuda prepared to contribute to the workforce.”

Tawana Flood, the director of the Apace division, noted the practical benefits of the programmes.

She said: “Our courses help individuals re-skill or upskill, supporting career changes or advancement through additional qualifications. We constantly evolve our offerings to ensure students stay ahead.”
