New scholarship announced for IT, actuarial science student
The Bermuda College Foundation has joined forces with Martello Re to launch a new scholarship for Bermudians studying actuarial science or information technology.
The scholarship will fully fund one first-year Bermuda College student for the upcoming academic year including tuition, fees, books and materials.
Kerry Judd, the executive director of the Bermuda College Foundation, said: “This scholarship is a testament to the power of partnership between the private sector and higher education and reflects Martello Re’s commitment to investing in Bermuda’s future by supporting a student who demonstrates academic excellence, financial need and a passion for high-demand fields.
“We are grateful to Martello Re’s support.”
The new scholarship will be open to first-year students with Bermudian citizenship or status, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a demonstrated financial need.
Applications must be submitted through the Bermuda Scholarships website before the August 6 deadline.
David Sam, the president of Bermuda College, said the scholarship would help to remove financial barriers and empower a deserving student to pursue their academic and professional goals.
Dennis Ho, the chief executive of Martello Re, added: “We believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities.
“This scholarship is more than financial support — it’s an investment in the dreams and potential of Bermuda’s future leaders.
“We’re proud to stand alongside Bermuda College in empowering the next generation to thrive.”
