Devonshire Parish Council names scholarship winners
The Devonshire Parish Council has unveiled the five recipients of scholarships intended to help outstanding young residents pursue higher education.
A spokeswoman said that Micah Hollis, Kaylee Almeida, Justin Welch, Shania Kassiram and Dante Waldron had all shown “exceptional dedication and achievements” in their academic pursuits and have committed to making a positive impact in the community.
Mr Hollis is studying architecture, while Ms Almeida is studying diagnostic radiography and medical imaging.
Mr Welch is studying community development in environmental and sustainability studies, while Ms Kassiram is studying law and Mr Waldron, commerce.
The DPC spokeswoman said: “This year’s scholarship recipients have been awarded financial support to help further their educational journeys and achieve their personal and professional goals.”
In addition to financial support, the scholarship recipients will be invited to take part in community events and networking opportunities hosted by the DPC.
Zoe Smith, the scholarship committee chairwoman, said: “We are incredibly proud to honour these outstanding young individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication both academically and in their commitment to serving our community.
“Our scholarship programme is designed to empower these talented students to follow their dreams and become positive forces for change.”
