Somersfield Academy highlights scholarship recipient
An incoming Somersfield Academy student demonstrating “academic excellence” has received the school’s Equity and Merit Scholarship.
A spokeswoman for Somersfield said Kritik Rangta received the award for his leadership potential and commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
Mr Rangta will join the school’s M4 class next month after studying at Whitney Institute Middle School, where he earned the Deportment Award for his conduct and the Academic Award for having the highest GPA in his year group.
The teenager attended Bermuda Montessori School, was head boy at Northlands Primary School, and is considering a career in law, actuarial science or engineering.
The spokeswoman said: “In addition to his academic achievements, Kritik has shown strong leadership through roles such as head boy and prefect.
“His volunteer record, which includes more than 45 hours of community service with initiatives such as Keep Bermuda Beautiful clean-ups, the breast cancer walk and youth sports camps reflect Somersfield’s values of compassion, responsibility and community engagement.”
Alison Kempe, head of admissions at Somersfield, added: “Kritik embodies the spirit of the Equity and Merit Scholarship — intellectual curiosity, leadership and a commitment to service.
“We are excited to welcome him into our community and see how he will continue to grow and inspire others.”
The Equity and Merit Scholarship provides free tuition to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and alignment with Somersfield’s mission and values.
Students entering M4 through Diploma Programme 1 must apply for the scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year by March 9, 2026.
Applicants must submit an essay demonstrating passion for learning, personal growth and community involvement to admissions@somersifeld.bm. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
