Autumn public service bursary awards available
Bermudians have been invited to apply for the 2025 autumn public service bursary awards
The deadline for applications is Wednesday and in the first round of bursaries, the focus is on two critical roles within the Ministry of Public Works and Environment, a government spokeswoman said.
The roles are that of an architect and a building surveyor.
She said the architect would play a vital part in designing and maintaining the island’s public infrastructure, including schools, government offices and community spaces.
The building surveyor would ensure the safety, efficiency and longevity of Bermuda’s public buildings.
To be considered, applicants must:
• Be Bermudian
• Have completed at least five years of schooling in Bermuda
• Be 40 years of age or under at the time of application
• Be accepted into or be enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s Degree programme
• Must be pursuing a qualification relevant to the public service
• Must be committed to a career in the public service upon completion of their studies
The two bursary-supported posts are designed to attract skilled professionals into specialised fields that are essential to the effective operation of government services and infrastructure.
The spokeswoman said the bursary award marked a unique opportunity for the applicants to gain financial support while preparing for a career contributing to Bermuda’s development and public wellbeing.
The bursary award benefits include $20,000 per annum, renewable for up to five years.
It supports tuition and educational expenses for students pursuing qualifications aligned with public service needs and offers a pathway to meaningful employment in the Government upon graduation.
