The outgoing Butterfield Bank group chief financial officer is to be honoured by his alma mater next month.

A statement from Albert College in Canada said Craig Bridgewater will be recognised during the school’s parent and alumni reception on October 3.

Mr Bridgewater graduated from the Ontario boarding school in 1988 and will be retiring from its board of governors this year after a decade of service.

He was appointed Butterfield Bank’s group CFO in 2022, but will step down from the role to pursue other opportunities.

Mark Musca, Albert College head of school, said: “Craig Bridgewater brings a unique perspective to Albert College’s board, as an alumnus, Bermudian and financial officer.

“As a member of the Frederick Sydney Smith ’31 Scholarship Committee, he has also ensured that Bermudians continue to have the opportunity to attend Albert and shape our community.

“It will be a pleasure to recognise Mr. Bridgewater’s contributions.”

Mr Musca and Heather Kidd, Albert’s director of enrolment management, will host the reception with Melanie Barrett, director of development, at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club starting at 6pm.

Members of the public can learn more about Albert College — which has supported more than 230 Bermudian students through the Frederick Sydney Smith ‘31 Trust — at the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools boarding school fair to be held in the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on October 1 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
