Universities in Atlantic Canada offer student fair
Bermudians headed to university and contemplating higher learning in Canada will get a chance to meet visitors representing at least five establishments from the Atlantic Provinces.
Students, parents and the community were invited to the public Atlantic Canada Education Fair set for October 6 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute from 5pm to 6.30pm.
Participating universities include Dalhousie, Mount Allison, Mount Saint Vincent, Saint Mary's and St Francis Xavier University.
Attendees can discuss scholarships, academic programmes on offer, working while studying, student life and opportunities for experiential learning.
Arianna Woodley, admissions counsellor at Mount Allison, said: “The process of applying to postsecondary institutions can be quite daunting and we are pleased to provide personalised support for our Bermudian students who are interested in studying in Atlantic Canada.
“Helping them find the best fit — that home away from home — is rewarding, as not long ago we were in similar positions as these students.”
Ms Woodley said Canada offered “exceptional” postsecondary experiences and said the group was “excited to share a bit more about life in Canada”.
