BCCL marks ten years with picnic, connection and games
The Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning celebrated its tenth anniversary today by bringing together its students, parents and staff for an afternoon picnic.
While the activities were scheduled for Victoria Park in Hamilton, rain forced the festivities inside BCCL, located at Cedar House on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Victoria Street.
Families still enjoyed “games and gratitude” in the school’s newly renovated Student Centre.
Cindy Corday, the head of school and cofounder of BCCL, said: “This milestone is a celebration of our students’ resilience, our teachers’ passion and the unwavering support of our families.
“We are so proud of how far we’ve come and excited for the next chapter in helping Bermuda’s children who learn differently thrive.”
The students had fun with giant lawn games courtesy of Bermuda Rentals, along with cupcakes, ice cream and dancing.
Jane Vickers, the director of advancement and communications at BCCL, said: “Over the past decade, BCCL has remained committed to providing a personalised, flexible learning environment for children with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD and auditory processing disorder.
“Last year, the school expanded further to include a new Student Centre and occupational therapy-focused gym, enhancing its reputation as Bermuda’s only boutique city school.”
This September, BCCL launched its senior programme in partnership with the internationally accredited Christa McAuliffe Academy of Arts and Sciences and will welcome reception year students beginning in September 2026.
Founded in 2015 with 11 students and two staff members in the Brown Brangman building, BCCL has grown into a school of 60 students and 18 dedicated educators.
