Calling all Venturers: Raleigh seeks applicants
Raleigh International Bermuda is welcoming applications from young people to take the plunge for its 2026 Venturer Programme.
The personal development programme, aimed at people between the ages of 18 and 24, combines local training, teamwork and fundraising with the opportunity to take part in overseas expeditions.
Denae Burchall, executive director at Raleigh International Bermuda, said: “Raleigh’s Venturer Programme intentionally places young people in environments that demand effort, teamwork and accountability.
“They are challenged physically and mentally, supported by peers from diverse backgrounds and exposed to perspectives that stay with them long after the expedition ends.
“Young people considering a development opportunity before further study, entry into the workforce or during a gap year are encouraged to apply through our digital application.”
This year’s programme will include two international expeditions including a June trip to Costa Rica and a trip to Borneo in September.
In preparation for the overseas expedition, Venturers participate in a series of training days, workshops and team-building activities focused on leadership, communication, emotional regulation and practical expedition skills.
Those interested in taking part are invited to apply online through raleigh.bm or by filling out an online application form before the deadline of February 9.
A spokesman said the programme is made possible through the support of donors, including supporters of Raleigh International Bermuda’s 21 for 21 campaign.
