MSA marks birthday with service
Members of the Mount Saint Agnes Academy community performed acts of kindness across the island to celebrate the school’s 136th birthday on Tuesday.
A school spokeswoman said the day began with a celebration and prayer service, which included a presentation to childhood cancer charity St Baldrick’s.
The spokeswoman explained: “Their message emphasised courage, compassion and the power of collective action, perfectly aligning with this year's service-focused theme.”
Students then took part in various service initiatives throughout the day — including making cards and arranging gift packages for rescue workers, reorganising the Bermuda Red Cross thrift shop, washing cars to raise money for the Loaves and Fishes programme and visiting with senior citizens.
The spokeswoman said: “Across every grade level, the day reflected MSA’s commitment to nurturing empathy, leadership and social responsibility in all students.
“As the school marks 136 years of academic excellence and faith-based education, this year’s celebration served as a powerful reminder that service to others remains at the heart of its mission.”
