School registration decisions expected by end of month
Parents can expect public school registration decisions to be announced by the end of April, the Ministry of Education has said.
A spokeswoman for the ministry said the timeline is similar to that of past years but acknowledged that earlier notification of acceptance would be helpful for families.
The decisions will advise parents of which schools their children can attend in the next academic year.
“We are working through the registration process and we anticipate that decisions will be sent by the end of April,” the spokeswoman said.
“Based on the volume of applications and all the considerations that must take place beforehand, this is the soonest that decisions can be sent.
“We are looking at how to expedite the process so that families can have a wider window within which to make preparations.
“The Department of Education will work to ensure families are supported and ready for the upcoming school year.”
The window for parents and guardians to register children for the 2026-27 public school year ran from November 17 to 28, 2025.
The next academic year commences in September.
Once decisions have been made, families are able to select the school their children will attend.
