The Bermuda Entertainment Union has paid tribute to the late entertainer Gilbert “Bill” Caisey.

Mr Caisey, a top Bermudian singer and band leader, died on July 22 at the age of 87.

A spokesman for the union said: “Bro. ‘Bill’ Caisey, was known as ‘Mr Ambassador’.

“He never knew a stranger; he greeted everyone, anywhere – in a restaurant, a bank or on the street. He was pleasant and charming to everyone. Just being in his presence was always an adventure.

“Known for his musical gifts, second to that was his style of dress. Bro. Bill has been described as unique, elegant and dashingly handsome with a flair all unto himself. He modelled for English Sports Shop for a while and was voted Best Dressed Man for many years.

“His charm and personality exuded his love of life which showed in his walk and carriage. He was a perfectionist and immaculate with anything he put his hand towards.“
