An open-air cinema experience planned for Albuoy’s Point on Saturday night has been postponed owing to forecast high winds.

Part of the City of Hamilton's Fresh Air Films series, Sunset Cinema was to offer a relaxed evening under the stars.

However, predicted wind conditions would make it unsafe for the erection and operation of outdoor screens, and the event is to be rescheduled.

A spokeswoman said: “While we are disappointed to postpone the event, the safety of our attendees, staff and vendors must remain our top priority.

“We also want to ensure that when the event does take place, it provides the enjoyable waterfront experience our community has come to expect.

“The event will be rescheduled for another date, which will be announced in due course.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank the public for their understanding.”
