The Regulatory Authority is to provide the public with an update on research carried out on the use of an offshore wind farm in Bermuda.

The presentation, which takes place at Penno’s Wharf, St George’s, from 6pm to 8pm on June 28, aims to give the public an opportunity to gain insight into the island’s renewable energy future, understand the environmental impact and mitigation measures, and help to shape the direction of Bermuda’s sustainable energy strategy.

Attendees will be invited to share opinions, concerns and ideas while “engaging in meaningful discussions with experts and stakeholders”.

Nigel Burgess, acting chief executive at the RA, said: “The RA, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme are pleased to present our research on offshore wind farms.

“The town hall meeting is an opportunity for the public to learn first hand about the potential and possibilities that lie ahead before any decisions are made.”

Attendees are encourage to complete the registration form, and download and read the documents on the Offshore Wind Farm landing page, before attending the meeting.

They should also include any questions they wish to be answered at the bottom of the registration page.
