Scientists and activists from around the world are set to speak during the fifth annual Bermuda Youth Climate Summit this week.

The summit team partnered with the United Nations Development Programme’s Multi-Country Office in Jamaica for the first time to organise this year’s event, set to take place from tomorrow until November 21.

This year’s summit, themed “Global view, local impact” is aimed at people aged between 13 and 22 and will feature five experts and seven young activists discussing different subjects.

Experts include award-winning science communicator Maynard Okereke, known as the “hip-hop scientist”, J. Marshall Shepherd, director of the University of Georgia’s atmospheric science programme, and Jeffrey Steynor, Belco’s director of energy transition and business development.
