BZS makes key appointment
The Bermuda Zoological Society has appointed a new fund development officer.
The environmental body said Clesia Pachai’s work aligns closely with its mission to support conservation, research and education programmes that protect the island’s unique environment.
Ms Pachai brings extensive experience in corporate social responsibility, community investment and sustainability, with a background in guiding corporate charitable initiatives, along with environmental, social and governance compliance and integrating sustainability into broader business strategies.
Ms Pachai said: “My background in sustainability and social responsibility has reinforced the importance of building meaningful, mutually beneficial collaborations that create lasting impact.
“Environmental stewardship is at the heart of my work, shaping how I approach partnerships and programmes to deliver both community value and ecological benefit.”
Ms Pachai collaborated with the late Lynda Johnson, a veteran BZS fund development officer whose passion for conservation continues to be a source of inspiration.
Philippe Bacon, BZS board president, said: “We are pleased to welcome Clesia as the new fund development officer for the Bermuda Zoological Society.
“Her professional background and values are well aligned with our commitment to protecting Bermuda’s natural heritage and engaging our community through education and conservation.
“She brings a perspective and vision that resonates deeply with our mission, and we are excited to see how her leadership will continue to strengthen our connection with our donors and supporters who make our work possible.”
The BZS highlighted the importance of community support — especially on “Giving Tuesday”, a global day of generosity.
Over the past few months, it said Ms Pachai began reaching out and meeting with its donors, partners and community stakeholders to introduce herself and explore opportunities to strengthen and grow support for the organisation’s mission.
