Riders recognised at annual awards

Bermuda Equestrian Federation held their annual prizegiving dinner and presentation at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel last weekend.Attended by more than 200 people, the main winners were brothers Casey and Christian Truran who between them and their ponies were awarded a total of eight trophies.Casey, the older brother, claimed the prestigious Raymond White Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the overall horse/pony/rider combination.Another notable winner was Philip Correia who snared four trophies including the Little Orvy Trophy for the top show jumperCoach Michael Rodrigues won three awards and Inwood Stables came out on top in the stable award for gaining the most points.Che Chulae Dowling, seven, was recognised for her success in the Junior Lead Line Equitation Class.It was also announced that 12-year-old Lucas Bridges and 15-year-old Justus Anderson would be representing Bermuda in a junior jumping competition to be held in Jamaica next month.
