Kiwon Waldron blazed his way to a remarkable hat-trick of victories competing with three different horses at Harrah’s Hoosier Park racetrack in Anderson, Indiana, last Friday night.

The Bermudian harness driver earned his first trip to the winner’s circle after steering Ricky Macomber Jr’s two-year-old Philly, Hawt Yoga, first across the line in the trot class with a time of 1min 56.3sec.

It was a strong showing having crossed the line more than a second ahead of runner-up Be Cool Old Fool (1:57), with Blessed With Help (1:57/4) rounding out to the top three another four fifths of a second off the lead pace.

The 25-year-old was pushed harder on the way to picking up a second win of the night at the one-mile racetrack with Macomber Jr’s two-year-old, Bluebird Capt PJ, in the pace class.

This time, he led the eight-strong field across the finish line in 1:53/1 to edge runner-up Skyway Shaq (1:53/4) by a three fifths of a second, with Mocha Macchiato (1:54) crossing in third.

Waldron then secured a second victory in the pace class with Darla Gaskin’s All A Blur to complete a remarkable treble.

He finished in 1:54/1 to pip runner-up Holden Steady (1:54/2) by a fifth of a second, with Superfecta Hanover (1.54/3) taking third another fifth of a second adrift.

The talented athlete and trainer is competing in his second year of standardbred racing in the United States, where has already made a name for himself with numerous victories.
