Teshi Zuill has higher expectations for gelding Gold-N-Glory after moving up to the next time bar at the Bermuda Equestrian Centre last Saturday night.

After getting a leg out of the 1:05/4-1:07 time bar the previous race day, Zuill posted a 1:05/3 with the Belhaven Stables pony to get both out and advance to the faster 1:04/2-1:05/3 time bar.

“I am very proud of Gold-N-Glory,” Zuill told The Royal Gazette.

“I am very happy with the times he is producing now and look forward to seeing him do better times in the faster time bar.”

Zuill had a highly successful and memorable night of racing after achieving multiple heat victories along with fellow drivers DJ Burchall, Kaleb Camara and Candyce Martins.

He was also among four drivers sweeping their respective divisions, including Martins (Smart Machine and Victoria’s Secret), Camara (Iron Mike) and Burchall (Inwood’s Realist).

Belhaven Stables gelding Smart Machine and driver/trainer Martins clocked the fastest time of 1:02/2 to complete the sweep in the Free for All division, featuring the island’s fastest ponies, in the absence of fellow gelding Red October.

Lightning struck twice for Martins after she also achieved the sweep in the slower 1:07/1-1:08/3 time bar at the helm of Cindy Mayeaux’s Indiana-bred mare Victoria’s Secret.

Earlier this month she steered Victoria’s Secret to a lifetime best (1:06/2) at the Vesey Street racetrack to get a leg out of the time bar.

“Candyce has really done well with her since she’s come to Bermuda and has come a long way with her,” Mayeaux said.

Martins racked up the most wins (4) on the night, followed by Camara and Zuill with three each and Burchall with two respectively.
